Hey Russ...

From what I know about RO/DI's (& the ones I've had) they need to be adjusted to the "product / waste" ratio.
I see no setting on this unit at all & the manual on-line makes no reference about it.

And.....

Although all cartridges were replaced, I'm curious to know the order of them (want to double check on the previous owner).

Aaron:
This came with a set-up I just picked up.

So what part of my post don't you understand Lou? :banghead:

It comes out of your pipes and into your sediment filter.
From your sediment it runs into your carbon.
From your carbon it goes to your RO membrane.
From your RO it goes to the DI resin.

Capiche?

4:1 is what it normally produces at approx. 77 deg. F and about 70-80 psi. The only way I've ever seen to be able to adjust it is with incoming pressure and temp. Other than that the filters all need to be clean.

Doofus!

if you really want the ratio to be exact, get a john guest ball valve at home depot for $5.69 and put it on your wastewater line to adjust/match the ratio you want.

OR

you can leave it alone, let it make water at whatever ratio it is and diagnose what the problem may be.

Step one: Test your output and who cares what the ratio is if the TDS is "0"
Step Two: if you're unsure about the last owners carts, take it apart, look for all the necessary parts, be sure and know your reef water
Step three: If your getting higher waste water than output ratio than expected, their could be a few problems - no restricter valve - you will have to look for this in one of the final stages tubing - it's a little plastic insert that fits into the vinyl tubing and is about 4" long. OR, you're RO membrane housing is cracked at the point of the rubber gasket insert (happens more often than you know) and the water is bypassing the RO cart and heading down the drain.
Step four: Check all the cartridges to make sure they are good quality and grade that will produce the proper ratio and output. Some people use 5 micron instead of 1's - I have seen people use home depot carbon filters in the carbon stage thinking it's the same thing. All will affect the output.
Step Five: Let me come by and take a look on Thursday evening when I am on my way back from NYC chiller install. Make sure the sink is clean and I'll triage.
