September LIRA Events

Hi Everyone,

As some of you may know LIRA hosts is annual collecting trip out at Swan Beach in Hampton Bays. The years trip will be on September 12th starting at 9AM, there is street parking; for GPS/Google use 328 E. Montauk Hwy. Hampton Bays, NY 11946 for the exact spot but as soon as the road meets the water find a place to park.

As an added bonus this month we will also be hosting a special pre-MACNA meeting at Atlantis Marine World....

Simon Garratt, from the UK will be giving a presentation on how they do things across the pond, as well as a new tank design he is working on. More info on Simon can be found at:

The meeting will be held at Atlantis on Wed, Sept 23. The talk will begin at 8pm sharp, and doors open to the meeting at 6:30pm. I think there is a reef tank there to check out as well. There will also be some food for the event.

Also in attendance will be some MACNA 2009 presenters, including Richard Ross from Steinhart Aquarium and also Charles Delbeek who now works at Steinhart Aquarium, or as they say "The Academy".
