Serpent starfish spawning

Just witnessed one of my two starfish spawning in my 75 gallon mixed reef.
Is my skimmer going to go nuts? The tank is cloudy and it is still spewing out.
It's cool and it sucks at the same time.

very cool...are they serpants or sand stars?...could you get a pic? I have a pair of serpants for well over 10 years and never witnessed a spawned.

The tank light was off and I didnt want to startle it with a flash.
Im wondering if I should be expecting to see babies sometime soon.
They are actually brittle stars but most people refer to them as serpent starfish. They are large purple and reddish with smooth surface compared to the spiky ones.

My skimmer was going nuts and half filled my overflow container overnight. And a new filter sock is now almost overflowing. Wont have time to check parameters until later today.

I was wondering if anyone in here has had something similar happen.
A Google search doesnt return anything specific.

when one of mine looked like it was dying, a few years ago, I contacted on RC ( Ophiurioid ) she is an expert on brittles and serpants.... Ophiurioids, if you can get in contact with her I'm sure she can answer all your questions about them....she helped me keep mine alive for over ten years...
