Oooh, nice Jennifer!

My inverts (snails/hermits/peps) were dead on arrival. Only 2 hermits survived; most of the others crawled out of their shells. And the stink from the bags...not good!

My Clam still hasn't opened, but when I got home tonight some stupid snail or hermit knocked it off its rock and it tumbled into the rock-work. I got it out and put the rock it's on back on the sandbed; it's an easier fall if someone else knocks it over. It keeps twitching and pulling tips of its mantle in and out, so I guess it's alive at least. Let's see what happens... :bigeyes2:

Dave your clam is small, I think they like being on the sand at that size. if you have the room try putting some sand in a container and putting the clam in it. after it grows a little then try placing it on the rocks.

of course all the photos of the other clams on rocks does not help this theory, your clam is just picky, try the sand trick anyway.

Here is mine...

This about how open mine has been. I feel they need alittle adjustment time and we all need patience. Keeping mine on a plug...seems to be OK, and no attacks, but I also have these 2 clams, and no1 has bothered them and as u can c, 1 is in sand, (blue, i got from buy with david from sharkys) and the goldie on the rock ( i got from mmike). The recent addition is greenish blue...blue inside, I like it...so here r the pics....
