I noticed some faint but distinct white little spots on my fish already.

Well actually 3, 1 on the left side of it's body and 2 on the right side.

Until I can deal with this possible disease, I am going to turn the temperature up a bit, because a video on how to treat ich said, that by doing so, I would kill most of the ich in my current water.

The guy who is instructing people on how to treat ich states that ich populations can exist even in the best of tanks and that is normal.

Anyway based on the video I saw this might have happened due to a water change? Last one I did was wednesday, but, I had to add new filter media to my filters over the last two days and I dumped some of the water out of my tank while doing this, and added some spare RO/DI water I had.
Another possible issue for this possible ich infestation is because I might be overfeeding the fish?

Again that reason was based off what the guy in the video I saw said.

Any suggestions on how to treat possible ich infestation are welcome.

Another question, if my fish is not really sick, can giving ich medical treatment actually cause some sort of other negative reaction?

You cant just watch one video
google Google 10 times each treatment plan you intend on employing

Your key words should be "does xxx really work to cure or kill Ich

Then research uv filter in saltwater aquarium

Agreed. I would personally disagree with all of that. Warmer water will increase the spread of it. (with freshwater ich it will help). Hypo salinity and copper are only treatments that are known to work along with fishless tank for 8 months. Also spend a few hours researching "why i should use a QT tank"

I currently have my QT fish in hypo where they will remain for 2 months as I write this and yes they have ich. Almost ALL purchased fish do.

Yep, cold water slows it down, warm water speeds up its cycle....take your fish out and put in a smaller tank and do hypo, less stress on the fish than copper....you will want the warmer water in the qt to speed up the ichs cycle and kill it faster..

Yeah I think the guy in the video said the same thing. That making the water warmer would speed up the process.
As of now I just suspect my only fish has ich. The only thing I can think of that might have caused it, was that while I was doing maintenance on my canister filter the other day, I threw out the water that my canister was holding, in order to refit it to the top.
Anyway so when I put the filter on again, it naturally pulled some of my aquarium water into the filter. When it did this, the water volume in my aquarium dropped. Thus I had some RO/DI water on hand, and I poured just a little bit more in, for the aquarium to get full. Though I'm not sure if the temperature of this new water was exactly or close to the temperature of the water in the aquarium?

Anyway it's been done. As for QT, I read up on this quite a bit, but right now I do not have the space to have a separate tank or a refrigium. I have limited space.
Right now though I lowered my tank's temperature a little bit. It was close to 84 last night, now it is close to 82

No, you cant get it from RO water. More than likely the fish had it and wasnt showing signs..if you only have 1 fish and no coral, i would add whatever fish you plan on getting and just make the tank a QT tank. Read up on how to hypo treat and when your finish you will be ich free and than you can start adding coral

I just fed it some brime shrimp too. Say about 16 hours after I last fed it. It just kinda remained in it's little hidey hole.
It didn't seem that interested in the food? Not sure if 16 hours was too soon between meals or it doesn't want to come out of it's little hidey hole. (Hidey hole is this little cavern I made for it using some of the cured live rock I have.
I have about 18lbs of cured live rock in this tank which is 20 g L.

I don't know if it has Ich or not. I just suspect it?

That is one reason I am asking about it here now. I don't know what happens first off if you treat a fish for a condition, when it doesn't have it? Would that make it sick?

2nd question: Again I'm not sure if it has it, I think I see a new spot today, however that could be just me being paranoid. For example later today I saw something dangling from it, which really concerned me, and then I realized that must be it going to the bathroom?

Unfortunately I cannot provide a close up video of my fish here at the moment or I would.
It is swimming around now as it's been doing every night for about more than a week ago.

Furthermore (yes all of my water is RO/DI water) so it's not like it came directly from tap water.

Lastly, to the comment that it might have already been sick, well I bought this fish directly from manhattan aquariums, and they told me that they treat all of their tanks with copper based medicines so I don't think it had anything when I left with it.

Again these little marks I see, might just be natural discolorations in it's red body coat?

I'm not sure but that seems at least possible? The fish is also very small right now so it is hard to tell if it really is ich or just again slight marks (like a birth mark of some kind on it's body).

I saw pictures of fish with ich on them. It looked like it covered their entire body, this is not the case for my fish right now. It's more like one little discoloration (slight mark) is on one side of it's red body, and then two more on the other side?
There is like a little dot (again I'm not sure if this is just me being paranoid) on another part of it's body. This one looks attached like a little fleck that won't let go on it, besides the few discolorations I see?

Other than that though, it seems to be swimming fine around and around my tank as it has been doing every night since I got it, and maybe I just fed it too soon?

Again when I fed it earlier or tried to, this was during it's time in it's little hidey hole, and it usually wouldn't go after any food while it was in this location?

i am in the process of curing ich i ad it in my tank unfortunately was only able to save the bi color blenny and a clown and a purple tang. As with any hobby you learn from experience and through forums but mostly from experience and reading ALOT. When you have a saltwater tank you should always have a Quarantine tank, i know people say its expensive to have a quarantine tank, but guess what this is an expensive hobby if you cant afford it then you should have not started it. Then also think about how much money you will spend on new fish if they keep dying from ICH.
You should run your tank fishless for 8 weeks but to be safe you should prolong it to around 11 weeks. I know it will look boring without fish but patience is a virtue and this whole hobby is about patience.
