Silicone on bulkhead thread (??)

Ok so I'm starting my new 120 gallon build hopefully tomorrow. I already have the tank,stand,canopy, sump, sand, live rock curing in water, pumps, Vortechs,etc.. One of my boys that owns a large system is telling me that I should silicone the bulkheads to the tank. I've never done this, never had the need really (plus don't trust it) I'd like to hear what is your opinion on this? I'm working on the PVC plumbing today (measuring and cutting before cement it) Thanks in advance.

No, no need for silicon on the bulkheads, will make it more of a PITA when you ever need to remove them. The rubber gasket and properly tightened bulkheads is all you need.

i used the magi lube from glass holes last time i set tank up, not really sure what it does if anything other than make hands sticky
