skimmer cup overflowed need help

Hello, my skimmer cup overflowed and now the inside of my stand smells horrific, any have any clue on what i can do to get the smell away? could i use baking soda and leave a box of it next to my sump to get ride of the smell? i was not sure if it would do something to my tank by leaving it next to my sump... so any ideas?

what kind of skimmer? i have an ac remora ev series that i got an overflow with a charcole filter to stink out

so should i poor some of the baking soda on the floor of the stand? or should i just put the full box open next to the sump? could this have any negative effect on my tank in anyway?

pour it on floor of stand to absorb it then set rest of it in box next to sump in stand
