Ok. I am running my 120 with a Euroreef skimmer that is for that size, so I need to upgrade it (although not another Euroreef), but at the same time I am dosing calcium every morning (4 caps A, 4 caps B, next day 4 caps A, 4 caps B, next day 4 caps A, 4 caps B, next day...)

Question. This is you, what do you buy now, being I only have the money now for one, money for second in 3 or so months.

The Skimmer or the Reactor...

PS. I also want to buy quality, so I will not buy a $100 skimmer and a $100 reactor to be able to get both, if you get me.

Thanks,

Joe

The way I see it, the skimmer is the absolute most important in a reef system. Get a good one!! As far as calcium or alkalinity is concerned you can cheaply make randy's 2 part and dose it manually! A lot of us do it.

I agree with Herman 100%.
Underskimming is worse than having to dose two part everyday.
If you don't dose, you'll sacrifice some growth.
If you don't skim, you might wind up just sacrificing the colony (s) because of poor water quality.

I was leaning towards the skimmer, wanted other opinions.

Big Cap, huh, a simple idea that I never thought of. Sometimes when its infront of your face you never see it.

120 Tank, 30 gal fuge, 30 gal sump running 2 tangs, 3 gobies, 4 wrasses, coral beauty, mandarin. SPS dominated tank, 2 clams, 3 starfish, 5 shrimp, clams and hermits. Calc 420.

Thanks Gentlemen.

I'm looking on Reefcentral but search all bound up. Anyone have Randy's 2 part recipe handy. Have not heard about the 2 part so any info you have I'll take.

I have parts of it but want the full deal.

Thanks.

Joe
