Skimmer Question

I just set up my first mini reef tank (25gal), and use a SeaClone skimmer (SCPS100). The thing works great on full air power, but also turns my aquarium into a giant seltzer bottle. Is this just something you have to put up with when using a skimmer in a small tank, or is this just a bad product, and if that is the case, what brand skimmers would someone suggest to me?

AquaC Remora with MaxiJet 1200 pump

CPR Bakpak 2 with Maxijet 1200 pump is a good one as well.
