Skimmer suds?

I have my tank in the wall finally and the only issue is my skimmer. Sudz are out of control. Any ideas as to what I should do to correct it? Thanks

Too much protein in the water

Had similar problem when I treated my tank with chemiclean and shut of the skimmer for 2 days. Too much protein in the water causing an over flow in the skimmer when I started it back up. I suggest lower the water level in the skimmer so that the bubble don't overflow the collection cup. As the skimmer pulls out more protein you can raise the water level gradually.

well if its a new set up and a new skimmer you need to open the out put of the water fully so the skimmer can break in.

A new filter sock can cause this for a few days also.
