Skimmer

Since I put in some new sand and cover up some bare spots,My skimmer has been going nuts so I've tried several times to get it started and it's still skimming water and so What should I do?

Take off the collection cup and let it run and over flow into the sump until it starts skimming or keep it off for a few days.
