I am getting wet skimmate out of my skimmer about a gallon in 2 days I realize that it is taking water out of my tank . Do I have to add saltwater for top off because I am pulling salt water out of the tank? If I just add fresh water my sg will go down correct? Now Im going to try for dry skimmate.

Thanks Bob

Lawman I thought for top off purposes we need to use plain RO/DI. Wont adding saltwater for evaporation or skimmer loss drive up the salinity too much. I'm confused............

I think if you are wet skimming you are taking saltwater out of the tank. If you add fresh water your sg will go down.

Wet skimming = SW lost

Add SW accordingly. A Top Off is for evaporation and you should only add FW for no salt was lost. Not so with wet skimming.
