Smallest tank for a small group of anthias

What is the smallest tank you would recommend for a small group of anthias? Not a whole harem, but I've heard they do better in groups and are happier which could help their feeding habits.

I was thinking a trio of dispar or threadfin.

Any recommendations welcomed.

Possibly dispar but I'm not even sure about that. Certainly smaller, less expensive anthias.

the bigger the better, they like room to swim.
do you have room for a 125 6' long tank?

probably ... would love to upgrade my 55, but too much $$$ and hassle ..
Would they fit in a 55? Or better to keep solitary specimens?

a 55 is kind of tight a 120 4' tank would be better if you can't fit a 6'. I wouldn't try them in 55 or even a 90 but I have seen it done but not for a long run. They can get aggressive towards each other and they like to swim.

Yes you should stick with the single anthias like I have,If you want some kind of harem group, some types of fairy wrasses are kept this way(check the wrasses sticky)

Ive had a trio of squammi anthias in my 40, one died after the tank change, and the other two fight every once in a while. I also can't add a third as the female harasses to death any new ones i place in. They are in a 65 now. Just my experience.

And they seemed happy in the 40?

Yes very but i had less fish so they had more room and were half the size now. If they died i wouldn't get another harem though untill i did a big upgrade though.
