who sells/makes perfect seamless sphere tanks with slight flat bottoms? looking for 30" length. open top. almost like a circle goldfish or betta bowl, but without the lip on top, and bigger, and glass or acrylic. i have a good friend who is a contractor that has an insane idea that he wants to build for his house and told me to find the tank. its going to be very expensive, which he knows, but wants to start to build this. already has a guy lined up to air brush it and all. he does not want me to post his "ideas" or go into exact detail, but lets just say its going to have a hand carved extremely detailed wood octopus holding the tank with insane artwork. he just needs to find out who can get or make this sphere tank he is looking for. he wants to make the light fixture out of LEDs in the suction cups of the octopus tenticles and for filtration...i really dont know what he is going to plan. im sure drilled on the bottom of the tank somehow, but he does not want rock work stacked in the middle hidding the pipes or filter, he wants it to be open. let me know if you know of any company out there that could make a tank like this..

to get "seamless" in that shape, you're probably going to have to talk to a glassblower- I don't know if any custom tank manufacturers do this type of work (doesn't hurt to ask them too, though).

you might have some luck if you look on websites that sell tanks designed to house moon jellies, but I've never seen a full, fishbowl looking sphere on any of them- mostly cylinders.

Hey Ryan, this is a really cool plan your buddy has. The two tanks that Bobby linked are sweet.
I've got one issue (without putting more than 20 seconds of thought into it).....how would you keep the inside acrylic (or glass) clean from algae? That curved acrylic will become green with algae in no time. The beginning few days, even weeks or possibly a month or two will look amazing. After that, I think this tank would become the same proverbial 'dirty cloths rack' that the treadmill became.

Just my $.02
