can a yellow sponge that wraped it's self around the skeleton of a blasto and touching the polyp irratate it for month's and eventually kill the polyp?

I think it's very possible. One of my micromussa has about a 1/2" "DMZ" zone between it and a black sponge. :P

Yup, there are stinging species of sponge, toxic species of sponge and encrusting species of sponge. The inhabitants of your tank just like the ocean are fighting for a space to live.
