hi guys, i have a 4 month old 29g tank, i have 2 75 watt vho lights on it. will i be able to keep sps, and are there any types of clams that could live under this lighting??? thanks austin

Deal with your anemone problems first, consider waiting until your tank is more established, then research Tridacna derasa.

ok, i am gonna get rid of that carpet, so do i have enough lighting for that clam. thanks for your help teevee

I am not positive but I dont think that your lighting would be sufficient to keep a clam. Although as tevee mentioned research the derasa clams. I think they require less light.

how deep is the sand in your tank? If you have a 6 " deep sand bed you are going through alot less water than someone w/ a one inch bed. How clear is your water?

The issue is not how clear the water is, but more importantly, how close the clam can be to the light. Twice as far, and you will have 25% of the light. So for more light demanding critter, you need to bring it higher on the rock and closer to the light.
