I need to figure out/find out why I had that spike in ammonia. No I didn't test nitrites.
I plan on using half or less than half of the recommended dosage which is 250 g. So I plan on using 125 grams

I just looked up the capacity of Rowaphos. 1 kilogram will absorb 25 grams of phosphate. Your 320 gallons of water with 2 ppm of phosphate carries about 2.5 grams of phosphate. 125 grams would strip it to 0. This might happen in a few days depending on the flow rate through your reactor. Cutting the amount of Rowaphos would bring it down to above zero but still pretty fast I would think.

Maybe the experienced GFO users can give us a sense of how fast phosphate is absorbed.

I will have to adjust the flow rate it sounds like. Couple days sounds too quick

Did a big/major water change on Monday. 75 gallon water change. The salinity was brought up to 1.022. Was told to take this slow as to not shock the fish and corals.

Looking better. I see the phosphates, originally around 2 ppm, came down more than I would have estimated with a 75 gallon water change. Maybe the 2 ppm was not measured with a Hanna.

no with the phosphates it wasnt measured with the hanna. it was measured with api. i plan on doing another water change either today or friday. not as big. maybe 40-50 gallons to reduce the nitrates some more and bring up the salinity
