What size are you looking for ? There is a guy on RC that is selling his 185g with tank and custom stand/hood that looks great. I couldn't fit it in my doorway.

Starphire is a brand of PPG. Its basically low iron glass. Glasscages uses generic lowiron. I dont know if there is a difference between starphire and the lowiron. Never saw the side by side.

I was just reading as to the low iron glass tanks that everyone is getting are pitting because they aren't as dense/strong as regular glass. Greg Hiller (Boston for those who never met him) just spent a ton on his Low Iron glass tank and it is scarred already. It is getting pittted from the water movement and sand hitting the glass.

You might try Aquariums For You in New Jersey. I had a 225g. custom starphire from them and it looked great.

I treat my low iron glass front like it's acrylic. I do whatever I can not to scratch it I had heard it's easier to scratch than regular glass. even with no sand in the tank I still got a decent mark on the front.
I definitely like the look of it though.

Just buy an acrylic tank, you be very happy with how clear it is and everything looks so much brighter and truer in color.

You saw my tank, and it is starphire front and sides from Glasscages. I get sand caught under my magnet all the time and am freaked that is is going to scratch, but never does.

I love my tank and think it is very very clear. BTW, it has been a year and there are NO scratches.

Kelly, I emailed them about a 50 gallon (32x20x20) and it was going to be $600+ without the holes. Glass cages quoted me $340.

I have a low Iron tabk (3 sides) from glass cages. I read on RC that this isn't the same as starphire glass. There is still a green tint to the low iron, just not as much as regular glass.

I have a starfire glass tank from aquariums for you and love it. once you have a starfire glass tank is hard to go back to regular glass.

It's a 180. I bought it used about 4 years a go so I can't help with the price.
