Stockman stand pie, or Durso which allows more flow

I have my 40 breeder set up with a stockman standpipe right now and am using a mag 9.5 for my return. I Have to turn the mag 9.5 way down witha ball valve to get the right flow, would a durso let more flow?

I can't think of a reason why either would prevent flow. If your bulkheads can handle the flow without a standpipe it should handle the flow and more with a standpipe.

What happens when you remove your standpipe (besides the sound increase)??

I'm with Rich. If either are properly sized they will work fine. I have used both for approx the same flow and have not had issues with either.

What is the normal GPH a durso or stockman will handle with a 1" bulkhead and pipe? I havent tried it with out the stockman.

I think that a 1" bulkhead tops out around the 6-700gph range

For a 1" drain 6-700 GPH sounds about right.
