Strainer for Aqua Clear 50/70 Powerhead

Hey Guys,

In the past I lost an anemonie and two cleaner shrimps to power heads and almost lost another anemone this time around.. I want to prevent this before I put any cleaner shrimps into my tank. I have an Aquaclear 50 and 70 in there now. Is there a strainer I can buy or make for the two power heads?

Thanks. I saw this on the marinedepot website, but it isn't clear if it is a strainer.

When I had the 801 I attached a strainer for the Power filter on the Powerhead.

Bristol, what do you mean? Did you apply something like what Deanos recommended?

No, that's too huge, it was a piece like a cone that snaps onto the powerhead. Then I just attached a strainer to that. I'll try to find a pic.

Hmm...I will take off piece 14 and go to the LFS to see if they have a strainer that fits. It stinks that I had to loss livestock to realize how important strainers are. :redface:

I know how you feel, mine shredded a firefish & sucked a yellow tang's face off the same day I got him.

Yeah, it sucks. It shredded $65 worth of live stock. And to add salt to injury, I forced me to do a water change as well.
