Im going to be putting up my 125 soon, so i have some questions. Please keep in mind i only own the 125 gallon aquarium(glass) and a pine stand. I will follow up answers with more questions. This thread could get big

***plenum vs DSB***

Guys, i have heard about 50 different opinions about the subject, the only real problem i have heard about plenums is that anemones cant stick the glass (this month's fama fixes that) and the poison gas being made. DSB I have heard doesnt work. A plenum is so easy to make, i see no reason not to. Help me if im wrong.

***Sump***

Im just going to use a rubbermade and fill it with some live rock. Ill have a pump in there, standard thing.

***protein skimmer***

I want to use the aqua-c ev-150 The foot print works with my stand

Thats all for now, im not going to buy the lights untill after the live rock cycles (bad idea?)

my personnal tank is a 125. I am running a DSB with a glass sump, rubbermaid refugium, AquaC-150, 3-175w MH, 4 96W PC actinics, Sea-swirls, Myreef calcium reactor, and LG-4mdqx-sc for circulation. It works great. As for the great plenum vs DSB debate, both work. I have a 450g system with plenums that has been set up for over 3 years with no problems and excellent growth. I also have a 2 1/2 year old 300g DSB system that is doing great as well. Hope that helps.
