Sucking up Detritus

How would you suck up the detritus while keeping the same water in the tank?

If you have a sump, here's what you do:

First take a piece of hose and attach a filter sock or some kind of filter pad that's "bag like" to the bottom end.

Once you start the siphon but that end into the sump and start siphoning, all the dirt will get stuck in the sock and the water will remain in the tank.

You could even use one of your own socks, i used one of mine and it seemed to work the best .

suck it out the same time u do a water change that way you dont have to try and keep the water

I would just do it while doing water changes.

Look I know what everbody is saying but I need to suck up alot of detritus and I don't have enough buckets to do a massive water change.
