Suggestions Please ...Filter system for 55 gallon

Hey everyone,

I Decided to put a 55 gallon set up in my office!!
I am going to custom build the stand & canopy. It will be set up as a divider wall so I will want to run any filter set up from one side of the tank. I am not drilling this tank due to that I am only there about 9 hrs of the day { No Spills } just want some suggestions on the best filter system option for this set up.

Oh yeah, as of right now definally going with 70 lbs of live rock, as far as the lighting....looks like pc...unsure if I want to go reef or FOWLR

well you would probably be best off just doing a fowler, and maybe have the one end partitioned off as a refugium area, and run a huge canister filter with rock rubble and a phos and carbon pad

Drilling is not a problem if you take the advice of that Bob guy (lol) and make your sump at least 3/4 the size of your tank...Not to mention the water volume will allow extra stocking of the main tank...

definally not drilling , guess the canister filter is the way to go with maybe a hang on skimmer? which one

get a remora or remora pro, if regular remora use a mj1200, you could get a piece of glass cut and put it about 8" from the one end and make a in tank refugium also and it would be hidden since both sides are goin gto be visable

I'll have enough space to fit the remora and drian & return from a canister? I'm working with 12 inches.

definately, the remora will only take up aboout4-5" on the outside, but i would suggest getting the pre-filter box, and the canister will fit right under the tank

The Remoras are 6 inches wide, but that should still give you enough room.
I'd also agree that a fowlr would make you life a lot easier..considering you probably like to take vacations now & then.
