Summer Tank Blues

OK, summer has been crazy busy, but managed to keep up with the tank until 2 weeks ago. In a short two weeks of neglect:
One fire fish missing (cat seems very interested in the tank lately:angryindian
Alk and Calcium super low
coraline COVERING the glass
mojanos EVERYWHERE!!!!
sponge taking over eagle eye zoanthids
light timer broke so almost no daylight in the tank=brown monti caps

It could be worse, but why do the bad things always happen so quickly??

Anyway, tidied everything up and getting my parameters back on track!:agree:

busy!!! 2 trips out of town, busy work schedule, and sold my apartment up town.

Now I'm back and ready for some reef fun and get togethers!!!

Leslie, over the past 8 years of reefing I have always gone through a neglect period during the summer months. I actually consider this the norm (at least for me). Ironically, this is usually the time when my tank grows the most. I guess because I leave stuff alone for a while:tired: Anything that doesn't die can be "fixed"

My tank was also becoming neglected. It always a battle to get through the summer, since any little failure with the heat could mean total wipe out, i.e. chiller pump failing, chiller fuse blowing, black out.
