Sump less tank

Anyone keeping a NON nano setup without the use of a sump? What has been your experience long term. Just exploring my options here and wanted to know if it's possible to do successfully. I would think full reef would be more difficult than folwr..... Could also be very wrong with that thought. Thanks in advance

I've had 5.5 nano for now 3 months... So far no problem.. I have a 26 watt and a filter that was build for up to 10 gallon... From I believe red sea. I just have a bio ball and a sponge. Live stock, tons of snail, crab, 5 different type of zoa and star polyp.

I ran a 29g with hob filters... couldnt keep any sps..

I think that he means that he wants to run with no filtration at all, just circulation... Or maybe something HOB only.

Marki24 is the one I know that you should reach out to. I know he ran his tank without a sump, and swore by it.

does 55g with hob skimmer, hob refugium, and a canister filter count?

everything was great, then I have to tear it down b/c of an upcoming move. I didn't have any SPS except for monti's though. I don't like the HOBs for 1 thing though, they create too much water splash --> salt creep.
