Wouldn't white light be necessary bc it has the fullest spectrum

I just put in half my new bulbs , Fiji purple , blue plus, blue special, I'm going to wait a week before I put the other 3 in blue+, blue special and coral from ati, way, way to blue compared to my old bulbs, uri and current combo

Do you have sps in your tank?

i do have sps and lps of all kinds. both doing well. The reason this light combo makes sense to me is that I'm an experienced diver. most of the time, when your under the water, all the great stuff happens when the light spectrum changes from white to blue. might sound crazy and not very scientific...but I'm happy with the results.

I ended up going with your combo of T5's. Thanks to Gotham Aquatics for supplying me with the bulbs and other goodies. I will post pix in a month or 2 of my tanks

you can do straight blue + bulbs with blue LED strip for extra color. They will grow and color LPS like no tomorrow. Also depends on your water conditions too. that takes a big roll in that.
