Tangs eating chaeto

So, Fritz was over at my place yesterday getting a Clam and he mentioned that his Yellow Tang eats chaeto. Today I clipped a few strings of it to the glass and my Yellow Tang and Hippo both started chomping. This is pretty neat considering Tangs are supposed to graze all day and chaeto doesn't break apart and rot like regular algae sheets (which I'll continue to feed them still). Chaeto can hang there forever! :splitspin

They do graze all day but with suck up Chaeto or what ever plants you place in your tank. Some, like rabbit fish, will even eat hair algae. None of that stuff last long in my tank. I can place a whole nori sheet and it's gone in like 5 min or less.

isn't the cheatos too stringy to be eaten? i thought maybe it was too thick to eat whole.

They just bite off the ends of the strings.
