Sweet. I was actually going to ask what u currently had.

That reef brite... Can you also show with just that on? I saw another video that I think it was you that you posted. Was that it? When your fixture is on, Can you actually tell that comes on and off with your t5 running? Is that also too bright to run as moon lights at night? Like do your corals close under it? I currently have 3 current lunar led strips on my bio cube. At night It looks amazing. But too bright to keep all night because my corals don't close. But i can actually tell a lot when i turn the main lights on and off with it which is what i wanted.

My real goal is running it kind of like breakin news tank thread. I love the blue color. I want to run all ati blue plus with the reef brite

I will show all the different stages with the lights, it is to bright as a moon light though and it really freaks the fish out. They run into the rocks and stuff kinda like it blinds them. I wouldn't recommend it as a stand alone light. I just run it on a timer with the first 2 T5 lights that come on and they are both ATI Blue plus

Yeah I'm not looking for a crap brand, I want something good. Im tired of all the brands you mentioned master shake. And thanks jaa for your finds.

Now tell me, why exactly is tek good? Im kind of confused why they don't have legs with it, or a hanging kit, or LEDs. Does it have more then one switch on it? Fans? Im never personally seen one. Im planning on going over to russ place and taking a look at one soon, but I just want to hear your opinion about them. Not just they are good. Why are they good? Individual reflectors? Ect....

Like i said, it's a 46 bow, so i don't really have room for a 6 bulb. The last two bulbs will hang over the back, and the legs usually are too big. I can't hang it either because i have the stainless ssteel canopy by oceanic. That won't work fitting inside the bow shape canopy. Check out my tank thread in my signature if you don't understand. And also, im not doing anything crazy for corals. So LEDs would be cool, but not necessary. I think a four bulb t5 and that reef brite should be good.

Good questions. The teks are good because of the quality put into making them. They have very reliable ballasts that last a long amount of hours giving you the time for your money. They have 2 switches(one for actinic and the other for daylight) that go along with 2 separate plugs. They are efficient but do not use fans mostly because they dont need them. The aluminum that makes the fixture is lightweight and disperse heat easily so no fans are needed. The led's are not added because the moonlights arent really needed, besides the led's on the other brands used for moonlight effects are complete crap and mostly useless. If i am correct i believe the teks come with a protective screen, but like you said no legs or hanging bracket. Other junky companies offer those so you overlook the quality of their product for the fact that you do not want to separately buy the legs or hanging bracket.

Thanks man for the short review. Do u have a tek light currently? If so any pics of it? I don't think it has the protective cover either. LEDs I guess don't matter, seeing I'm planning on getting the reef brite anyway.

And do you or anyone know the height of the legs? It seems tall and Like i said i have a canopy and it cant be too tall. Also the length of the legs? The side of my tank I think is only 8-10 inches.

The TEK Elite series has fans. Prior TEK lights did not. I recommend the fans, that is a lot of heat to disperse even given the aluminum.
The air coming out of my light is very warm and I would not like that in close proximity to the tank especially in summer.

Hmm..new little problem I see that I may be wrong about but, if I get a tek light, I don't see much room to mount the reef brite? After the reflectors and bulbs, I see it angels up , then straight up. Where would I mount it?

Good luck with whatever you go with. Just a review...I recently purchased a Solarextreme t5 from Russ at Saltwater critters and I love it. Bulbs are great for now, the fans are quiet as well, and having a built in programmable timer and only one cord are great features too. Couldnt beat the price either..
Just my opinion...good luck with your purchase...
