My 30gal I have 1-96watt PC and 2-65Watt pcs when the lights are off the tep is around 78 to 79 when the lights are on it hits about 81 to 82 is this swing ok

agree that it's fine, but if you are concerned, which you don't need to be, you can either get a small fan to cool the water when the lights are on, or raise the heater temp up a degree or two. If it where me and I was doing something I'd raise the heater temp. This way there is nothing new to buy, a fan will increase the evaporation, which will mess with the salinity, and could cool it below the current heater temp, causing it to heat more and the two will fight each other.

I can just turn up my heater to 80 to 81 that way I dont have the drop.

Dont you think that if the light is heating the tank up four degress daily that it will do that regardless of the starting temp? Just asking in hopes of learning something I dont know.

Technically yes but no. Depending on what you keep your ambient room temp at is the max your tank will run at. The lights can only heat the water so much. My temp range is 79 to 83 and I have alot of sps with zero issues. You could raise your temp tank up and have fans kick on by a controller.
