What's up MR

I currently use the API reef master test kit, realizing phosphates, trates, and possibly some other results are not as accurate as it should be. I was looking online and saw a redsea kit for alk,mag & calcium. $50 plus shipping ($8). Does anyone know of a lfs in Suffolk that maybe has the kit cheaper or same price if I can just go grab it same day? Or what do you use instead?

Also, I know you get what you pay for but is there an affordable phosphate test kit that is more accurate? I want to make sure everything's on its A game without breaking the bank. Budget is tight right now :/

Thanks in advance!

Hey,

Not sure of a LFS in your area but someone most likely carries it. I do use the Reef Foundation Pro Alk/Cal/Mag kit you are interested in though. I think it's a great kit just make sure you pay close attention to the color change during titration as depending on the light in the room you could miss the violet to blue transition then you have to start over again. Once you read and do the tests a few times it works really well. I used API after my first test kit and honestly I always had issues with them giving false readings mostly with nitrate. Everyone will have their preference on test kit brands. As far as price that's basically the price it goes for but it will last you a while.

I also have the redsea Algae Control multi that has both NO3/PO4 but I have to say i'm not to thrilled with the P04 test as the color is sometimes really hard to read. Redsea did have an issue with the color chart on this kit but I believe it was resolved.

I'm sure more will chime in and give you some more reviews on their experiences good luck.
