Does anyone have experience with Prime tower chillers? Reliability? Performance? I recently moved to Florida and I need a chiller for the 72G Oceanic bow front I want to set up. I plan to use 384W of compact florecent lighting over it. Do you think 1/4 or 1/3 is more than sifficient?

I'm using a Prime Tower chiller 1/3 hp located under the stand. I keep a fan blowing on mine all the time. My tank specs are as follows: 180gl with 30 gal fuge, recirc pump, dart main pump, oceans motions super squirt, 3 X 250 watt MH with Actiinics. My chiller runs constantly during the day. I have the temp set at 78 degrees. Tank gets to 80 degrees during mid day. I have central airconditioning. First one I bought had the thermostat go bad, they replaced the chiller. I don't use the built in thermostate, I use a Neptune Aqualcontroller. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I purchased the Current Tower 1/3 chiller though it may be overkill for my tank. The price was so close to the 1/4 chiller I couldn't pass it up. Even with a small fee of $15 for an oversized item, I got it with free shipping from www.petmountain.com for $514. I had initially ordered it from somewhere else but they were out of stock for nearly a month and when they did get them in, I was too far down the list to get one. I guess it helps that petmountain is located near a Current USA facility.
Anyway, I heard about a rash of thermostat problems from my LFS. Of course this was after they had given a glowing endorsement and after I had already ordered one but I was told they have pretty good customer service. It sounds like your experience was a good one. I'll see what happens when I hook mine up. 8)
