On a different thread [ MAC's spokestoken... ] we have gone aound the issue whether there was in fact an offical voice from the MAC on this forum, and the inescapable conclusion is that the answer is a resounding "NO!". [ I am glad we have cleared that up! ] That said, it still leaves us with the issue of if and how to go about communicating with the MAC.

Clearly the MAC has no obligations regarding this forum. Nor does this forum have any responsibilities vis-a-vis the MAC. [ Although at times that appears to have been forgotten by some. ]
Should the MAC wish to avail themselves of this forum as an opportunity to communicate to and hopefully with "Industry behind the Hobby" subscribers at Reefs.org, I - speaking purely for myself - would not want to stand in their way, unless:

a) the spokesperson(s) became engaged in personal attacks, regardless of the fact that he/she/they might feel that it was a mere "response"**.
b) the MAC voice(s) lied or obfuscated,
c) personal opinions or statements are made under the banner of the MAC*
d) only MAC [PR?] statements are made, and questions remain unanswered.

A-d can not be tolerated in a healthy debate. And unless we have a healthy debate with courtesy and respect, we may as well have a flame-fest[ival].

That was the coin I wanted to put in this forum's nickle-odeon...

Let's see how the poll [t]rolls,

PS I will be happy to help out , on behalf of this forum, with others , in approaching the MAC BOD, should such become desirable.

* been there; seen that.
** In [ Canadian*** ] icehockey, referees will blow the whistle more often on retaliation, than on instigation. I'm not suggesting that this is 100% and the only way to "fly", however, it does teach those who have bad tempers, thin skins, or long toes to mind their Ps and Qs...
Most often it is the retaliation guy who ends up in the box to cool off.

*** Given that Canada's juniors just lost the final game to the USA juniors, I thought it appropriate to mention "hockey", as well as to herewith congratulate the American players on their success.
They beat the best! :wink: :wink: :wink: :idea:
