The nicest color bulb 250 watt hqi bulb

hey guys just wondering which bulb has the nicest color and best par. im looking for more on the blue side but i want it to be bright and have good par. 250 watt hqi.

I loved the phoenix 14k bulbs. I actually turned off my actinincs and felt that it was a nicer, crisper blue without them.

Tony I have tried many of them and it all depends on what size tank you will be lighting, and what actinics will be used. If this is on the 30gal cube with no supplement I would consider the Phoenix 14k, AB 20k, Hellios 20k. If you're very concerned with par the phoenix is your only option, although I'm sure these is some new brand that I don't know of yet. I was able to get good growth with all these bulbs so I opted for the AB 20k, IMO best color.

Tony for the size tank I will go with 14k phoenix. Great color and growth not bad. Also consider 12k Reeflux.

I'd throw the Ushio 14K DE and the new Iwasaki 14K into the mix too. I love the Ushio lamp, but it might not be as blue as you are looking for. The Iwasaki might just fit the bill though it is no where near as blue as a Phoenix or any 20K. Also remember the ballast and reflector combo is going to change the way all these lamps appear.

rich at the moment i ordered a 250 watt retro kit DE with 2 x 24" tek t5 actnic retro kit.. i think its gonna look really good.. the bulb i ordered was the xm 20k for now. i guess ill use it and see how it looks but its prob. jus gonna be a backup bulb...
