i know ive been writing alot of threads lately but i am enjoying this hobby and discussing it on this web site.now i do not know much about this hobby but i am learning everyday.i just wanted to talk about this refugium i set up 2 weeks ago.before i set it up i was getting brown algae on my sand bed and glass.now i dont know if its a coincidence or if it does have anything to do with the new refuge but it seems to have all gone away.i was racking the sand bed and scrubbing the glass every three days but now i havent touched anything just doing water changes.i have to say my tank is looking wonderful and i know ive said this in one of my many threads but thank you everyone for making this an enjoyable and successful aquarium.and believe me i would have had no success if it werent for all of you foe leading me in the right direction.

you increased filtration and also your algae cycle could have passed. How long was the tank up and running before you added the fuge? and how soon did it dissapear after adding the fuge and what do you have in the fuge?

Tanks usually have a algae cycle of lotsa things you don't want growing then it just ups and dissapears. Just part of the biological cycle setting itself up.

Also your frequent water changes help also.
