Updated: Sun, Sep 09 11:41 AM EDT

MIAMI (Reuters) - A shark took revenge on its captor, biting a fisherman who had caught it in the sea off the Florida Everglades but then fell into the water, the Miami Herald reported Sunday.

The 44-year-old fisherman was airlifted to Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital Saturday night, where he was treated for a bite to his left leg and several fingers of his left hand, a hospital spokesman said.

He was in good condition and the wounds were "very superficial," spokesman Thomas Ellison told Reuters. He would probably be discharged Monday.

The spokesman declined to give the man's name, saying "he wanted nothing to do with the media."

The Miami Herald reported that the man was fishing off the Everglades National Park Saturday when he caught the shark and pulled it onto his boat.

He then sprayed himself with insect repellent, became slippery and fell off the boat, the newspaper said, quoting a fire-rescue dispatcher. Somehow the shark ended up back in the water too and bit the fisherman.

Sure the guy doesn't want to give his name to the media. He is a Bozo!

Many years ago, I used to go shark fishing with friends.

Point 1. Like scuba diving, NEVER go shark fishing alone.

Point 2. NEVER bring the shark into the boat.

We always had 2 people hold the shark with gaffs from opposite ends of it's mouth. We dressed the shark, if it was a keeper, over the side. Put a hole in the back of the tail and run a rope through the tail. The rope was then tied off to the boat.

I bet it will be a long time before Mr. Bozo goes shark fishing. What do you think?

Help me out. Does the shark get the award for trying to rid our planet of that bozo or does the bozo get the award for being the meal?

Which is it?

The bozo gets the reward for not passing his genetics on to further generations thereby bettering the gene pool. One technicality, however, is that the guy has to actually DIE in the process (or loose the capability of reproducing) and thereby ensure that he cannot pass his IDIOT genes to following generations.

He can get an honorable mention. I am surprised you have not heard of the award; it is quite prolific on the internet.
