Wow that was some game I just watched. Venezuela has a real good team too. Tomorrow night is a rematch of Puerto Rico vs the US to see who goes to the semi finals.

I have been a baseball fan since '65 and I must say that the Canada-US and Puerto Rico-US games were two of the best games I have seen in a long time. Go Team USA!

I must say it was not embarrassing, it was baseball this is part of the game. I understand if we were up by 5 runs or something but we were up by only two runs. Remember Zany The P.R. were not facing bumbs they were facing all stars, What a great game, dont get me wrong im still sad to see P.R. go but it was a fight till the end. Yes, the US and Venezuela play again tonight but it is just to determine who gets the #1 seeding for the next round (just like last time) - both have advanced to Round 3.

The two disciplined teams made it to the final. These countries play small ball and are fundamentally sound. They deserve to be there.

Until the US and the Latin American countries figure out that winning is better than homeruns and strikeouts, they'll continue finishing behind the Asian countries.

Our starting pitching killed us - if the US is serious about winning this they need to pick 3 starters and have them start Spring Training 6 - 8 weeks before everyone else so that they are ready to pitch like the pitchers for the teams that do well. Just my two cents.

Another difference is that Japan and South Korea have 95% of their best players playing. The US has about 60% of their best players. Not an excuse, they wouldn't have beaten Japan anyway.
