Duke, as Cheif sad, check your entire tank for loose wires or something of the like. You might also want to put a grounding probe in your tank if you have not already done so - they are relatively inexpensive ($15.00ish?) - they will help to remove stray currents in your water if you have submerged pumps and powerheads. You might also want to consider running a UV filter on your tank to help rid it of ich permanently. I know these are controversial, and I personally wouldn't leave one running on my display tank longterm, I did run one for a while on my tank when I had a small ich problem. I have never seen it since then.

I would wait at least 6 weeks before you stock anymore fish. Enjoy your corals. You'll be AMAZED at what grows in your tank without any fish to eat them. :)

Please note that I am talking like you are not going to break down your tank. We have all said at one point or another that we were going to sell everything off and throw in the towel. I have, in the past, calculated the amount of money I thought I could get for all of my livestock and equipment and thought about what I could do with that money. But in the end, we all decide to stay. :)

So quit whining and get to work! :fish:

You went way too fast. If I were you I would leave the tank running for a few weeks with no live stock. If after three to 4 weeks you dont have the urge to start up again, then take that beautiful tank down. The time off will let you think and give your (new) tank time to really establish itself. Trust me, it aint that hard. You just jumped in to the deep end. You are a beginner, GO SLOW!!!

Be strong and hang in there. It feels so much better when you turn it around and se yourself succesful at the end. This hobby os full of ups and downs. If the ups didn't feel so darn good I would have been gone a long time ago. Take a look at all your supporters!

Let Tony kick your arse duke! J/K In all seriousness I think its a good idea what you're doing. I've had my set backs too. Everyone has. Without set backs and mistakes we would never learn. I think you should look at it as a good experience and grow from it. Take a step back reevaluate and then go back in. Plenty of people here to help you back on your feet.

Hang in there buddy. I was going to quit & dump my 55 but I took a rest, stopped visiting LFS, kept my hands out of the tank, got rid of the bioballs, went BB & basically only fed the tank, (Less maint. more enjoyment). Now I'm back w/a 75 gal & I feel better about the hobby that I was going to quit. I was going to upgrade lights, skimmer etc. but I think I'll KISS (keep it simple stupid) & not spend money & time on equip unless I need it - just good test kits, 2 part dosing & water changes. GOOD LUCK!!
