I have had my 90g AGA with a 3MDQX pump set up for about a month. I can't seem to get rid of all the bubbles in my tank water. I also have 2 power heads at either corner of the tank. The bubbles really ruin the water clarity.
Has anyone ever had this problem...what can I do?

There are 2 potential reasons for the bubbles, one being you have a protein skimmer, the other being your return pump is sucking air into the intake and creating fine bubbles in the impeller housing. You can remedy this by putting a downward angle on the intake of your pump, or by increasing the water level in your sump, and as far as the skimmer is concerned, if you have one, it's an age old dilemna that I've never been able to solve sufficiently.

If the output of your skimmer is near the intake of your return pump, you will have microbubbles. Also, if the lines from your overflow are too close to the intake of the pump then you will have the same issue. I use a series of baffles (partitions) in my sump to allow any air bubbles to rise to the surface before being sucked into the intake of my return pump. Some people use sponges to do the same thing, but I have had mixed luck with them and also you have to clean them a couple of times a month.

Hope this helps.
