So most people here know I've been totally against pumps inside of my display tank.
After living with 4 MJ in my FOWLR I grew use to seeing them, and no longer bothered by the look.
I decided to add 4 #3 Hydor Koralia on a Red Sea Wavemaker Pro to my 155 Bow Front mixed reef.
I hid two of them behind the lr on the back glass panel. They are position about half way down facing forward (obviously). The other two are placed on the side panels facing each other towards the top.
This is about 3200gph added to the flow from the returns - Eheim 1260 - 600gph & Iwaki MD 40RLT - 750gph. For a total of 4550gph with a total of 1350gph being constant, and the 3200 being random.

Now for what I am seeing as a problem. My euphylia corals do not seem happy, and my fish are way active. The fish look to me like they are not able to settle down, not like they are enjoying the waves.:(

For now I plan to move the pumps on the back panel up in the hopes of taking some of the pressure off of my euphyllias.
Anything else I can, or should do?

Awi,

Once it's not a constant strong flow, they euphyllias should be fine. My torch actually dislikes low flow. I have it in low-high flow. Most of the time its moderate but every now and then it calms and then it can be turbulent as well.

Give the coral a couple days, if things look worse I'd change them. They might just get used to the flow and start expanding like they use too. At least thats what happened in my tank

The fish will grow hopefully grow use to the flow, they should.

Thanks Kris! This is what I am hoping for. I hate the idea of having to move that canopy!!!!:irked: That thing ways a ton, and definitely have to have at the very least 2 people just to move it forward never mind removing it completely.lol;)
