Trade Freshwater for Saltwater

Im trying to get my dad into the hobby. He has a 55 gal and its freshwater. He doesn't want to di because it will cost him a lot. If you can help out it would be great. I can trade 4 bala sharks a rainbow shark and two tetras for saltwater. There are also sps dead skeletons we have painted. Let me know what you have and what you would like to trade for. Thanks for backing me up. See I'm 15 and really want a tank. It took 3 weeks to convince him and I know he will like fowlr saltwater in the end. Tht is if I do all the Maintainence.

well to be honest with you, start saving your money man because even if you got some supplies for the stuff your offering its not going to be enough to get you off the ground. the hobby can be a burden on anyones paycheck, so i don't quite blame your dad. if i was you i would put money aside, and try to save up enough to buy a full setup from someone either from this site or craigslist. just my two sense.

As Jarred said before save all the money you can first. So once you have all the money you need to get into the hobby you will be set. Keep this in mind buddy once you get in to saltwater there's no going back lol. Well you can go back but is it going to be worth putting away to the side all your hard work on your set up I don't think so. But please think about it REALLY good before you get into the saltwater addiction buddy. Good luck with everything =)

I've been In the hobby for 3 years trying to work my reef on my allowance. It doesn't work so well anymore do I'm selling everything except fish and lr to covert the freshwater 55 to a fowlr. This way one tank in the house will look good too. We hvent ckeaneds the 55 gal for 4 years and it has no algae growth ! I'm mainly looking for lights and any fish. Thanks for all the advice. This hobby is too addicting. When I was 12 I went ro the Lfs and said I want that stick! It was actually a birdsnest coral I ended up killing
