Tubular steel stand

Does anyone know where I could have a powder coated tubular steel stand constructed locally ?

Just to let you know it probably will cost you triple then a wood stand. I looked into it myself and i was going to build it myself. Material alone was going to cost me 600 and that was just for the steel not the wood skim i was going to put on. My stand for my 180 wood cost me 120

so duke did you just go with 2x4's and ply?

I've asked around but it seems like no one wants to build aquarium stands these days. I'm in NJ and my woodworking skills are non existent so I figured I'd investigate tubular steel.

In fact I've asked a local aquarium shop in NJ and got a lead for a carpenter. Guy called me once. Called him 2 days later and never heard from him again.

So I'm left with the choice of buying a marineland or similar stand which I would prefer not to do or going with rjaquatics which I think you have to order from an aquarium store.

I think if you order a tank from Miracles or coast to coast the stand made out of steel is about $700 depending on size.

depending on what size the tank is. I went with 2x4s and 2x8s. All you need is a saw,level,screw gun and a plan. Its very simple. They even have youtube videos on it

I can't find it atm but somewhere there is a website that you put in your tank size/dimensions and it kicks out blueprints for your stand.

I don't think they want to build a stand unless it's on one of their tanks

I built mine out of Kindorf which is tubular steel and it comes galvanized. It comes in 3/4" 1" and 3". This leg is rusty because it is under my skimmer and has had water hitting it for almost 40 years. You can get it at any electrical supply, not very cheap.
You can get all sorts of angles and fittings for it. We use it for everything in construction.

The bottom of thast leg is all that got rusty but it has has salt water splashed on it and salt creep for all those years. The rest of it looks brand new. I replaced that leg.
