wondering if anyone has done this mod to their 6025's ? and if so how did itwork out ? here'sa link

I haven't done the mod, but I do have a question. Sometimes when I plug my 6025s in after cleaning the tank, they run backward, sucking water in the front and blowing it out the sides. Is this supposed to happen? I have to unplug and replug them a few times to get the water to go in the correct direction.

one of the 2 i have does the same thing. if i put my hand over the front it kicks in the right direction, the thread i put if you read through it seems alot of people's do this. wont be running a controller on it cause of this. the sand storm is terrible when it does it.

You dont have to unplug and replug. It will correct itself after 10 seconds.

It has to do with the electric current. If the pump is run by AC (alternating current), the magnet/impeller can spin either way. That's why the regular power heads use impellers (which pump water out by centrifugical force and it doesn't matter which way it is turning) instead of propeller. The tunze has a stopper which stop the magnet from spinning the wrong way. Now the more expensive tunze runs on DC and it can only runs in one direction.
