How is the Two Little FIshies PhosBan reactor? I see its only 30$, and think there has to be something wrong. Its also rated for 150 gallons or less. My tank is 75.

I have one on all three of my tanks. HOF carries them, plus Phosban to put in them. A smalll maxijet is all you need.

ZBT...from the Two Little Fishies Website...
PhosBan Reactor 150?
The PhosBan Reactor 150 is designed with the upflow principle to achieve the most efficient use of PhosBan? or other chemical filter media. By pushing water from the bottom upward through a dispersion plate, it forces an even distribution of water through the media, and prevents channeling. It can be mounted hanging on the back of the aquarium or below the aquarium. Hose barb connections are for 1/2 inch i.d. tubing. Includes 1/2 inch barbed ball valve for flow control, and hose clamps. Use with any pump having a capacity between 100 and 250 gph, but regulate the flow rate to the recommended 20 to 30 gallons per hour with the included ball valve

The Maxi Jet 400 (106gph) as well as the MiniJet 404 (18-108 gph) or the Mini Jet 406 (82-153gph)

Cibo..it usually takes more than a few days to see results in the reduction of phosphates in any tank. If your rocks and or sand have absorbed the phosphates it will take longer as well as the fact that we frequently are adding phosphates to our tanks on a regular basis while feeding our fish..so it's an ongoing kind of thing.

Keep in mind that nothing good happens quickly in reefkeeping :)

i use a minijet 404 and its fine... theres a gate valve on it to control the flow so the pump you use isnt that important as long as it is small. it would be really hard to find one thats too small. you can get GFO for it from bulkreefsupply for really cheap.

Make sure you use the ball valve (not gate valve) on the section of tubing between the pump (minijet 404 is what we recommend) and the reactor. Do NOT put the ball valve on the discharge side of the reactor.

Here's a little FYI lots of these places sell you the reactor but forget to tell you that the pump is not included. I bought my whole setup from HOF for 65. It had a huge bag of media, an Mj404 and the reactor. You also need to buy 1/2 inch tubing to go with it or you're screwed. Most of our vendors and sponsors have competitive prices with the online dealers except they help to support this community unlike lots of unnamed "big online" places that have refused to support us.
