Well, it has been sometime now since I have posted anything in regards to my color problems with my sps corals. First we had thought that it may be excess nutrients, then lack of nutrients, carbon, lights, gfo, refugium, water changes, RO/DI filters, salinity, ph, calcium, and magnesium, all of which I had either added, done, or changed with little to no luck. I do think that MG was an issue as I was not dosing it and it was at 1100 any way, colors stilll remained in the white to pastel color spectrum. For some reason I recently decided to buy a really good thermometer and put it somehwere that I could view on a daily basis. Turns out the tank tempurature between night and day was swiniging from 80 degrees to 74 degrees. The heaters in the sump were not strong enough to keep it stabe at night while the house was at 65 degrees. The guy at the Greenwhich Aquarium said that was very bad and was most likely contributing to the difficulty I am having with the corals. I am now using 350 watts of heat with a ranco device now keeping it stable at 79-80 degrees. It has only been about 10 days now but I think that it is safe to say, I see colors coming back and polys growing. :D I am trying to feed them every day with oyster feast and 20% water changes one every two weeks. Has anyone had problems like this with water temp?

Six degree daily swings is pretty large and could definitely effect coral vitality. Good to hear you found the root cause.
