I am moving from a 20 g XT to a 36 g tank and need to upgrade my filter.
I am currently running a 30g aqeon filter with chemipure elite and filter floss. I love the filter and the pump is silent, but the water breaking on the housing is loud as the water is returned to the tank. Are there any other HOB's out there that people recommend? I am currently looking at:

I am not dissatisfied with my current filter. My tank has always been clean and parameters fine. I would assume similar results from the next size up aqueon filter as the one I have now. I just wanted to check and see if there were any alternatives I was missing out on. I am really interested in these with built in skimmers. Obviously they cant be as good as actual skimmers, but maybe they have some added benefit?
Also, I have no plans to drill the tank or go Reef Ready. For what I run, the HOB's do a good enough job keeping the tank clean and are the least complicated.
