My computer is ready for x64 or vista 64.. but I decieded to stay with 32 bit cause half the software I use is not 64 bit compadiable. and manufactures aren't even caring about designing drivers for em.. as they all no Vista is done .. you also need to do some configuration in order to have 32 bit software access 4gigs. just to much aggervation.. for something simple.

I hear ya... Windows 7 is much better, even in it's beta form. But I'm deviating too far from Slamma's original post.

Since it's a new or fairly new notebook, I assume Vista SP1 is already installed, Slama?

Sorry, I had nothing to offer that would help your problem with IE8. Perhaps an error message or something from the system logs can offer more insight to the issue you're experiencing.
