Well here is the lowdown... Updated....
The stand was what failed. Dropped the tank and broke it. Thing is I was moving it to her place tomorrow. As I am moving. She was keeping it here so I could look after it. I do have a larger tank in the wings.. lol. are you kidding.. it's like any toy. You always are prepared to go bigger.. LOL
120 is on the floor in my dining room as we speak.
The losses are as follows.
- 80 lbs live sand.
- Critters in sand
- Bangaii Cardinal
- Black brittle star
- BiColor blenny.
- various snails(presumed KIA)
MIA (found!!!!!)
- Pistol shrimp(found alive) and watchman goby.
G/f's pride and joy.
Good news.. Watchman has been found hiding in a rock alive and well.
Injured
- Cleaner shrimp that sat on the floor from 11pm till he was spotted at 3:30am. Little bruised but alive.
- CB Shrimp missing lots of legs. kinda walking around on two and a half.
- stressed out pair of Percula clowns and peppermint shrimp.
- Large saddleback anemone. looking ok.. not sure yet tho.
- Solomon island cuke. isn't moving very much. Alive, but.
- Various cuts and abrasions on hands from glass.
lastly... My pride. very injured.
I had a brand new stand for her and was swapping them tomorrow during the move.
And I guess Neptune is p*ssed. A shellback is leaving his domain. I shouldn't have been gloating about it.
the stand was a creation of mine. So the fault lies there. I had made is very sturdy( I thought at least). looking at it now tho I see that the screws I used weren't strong enough to hold that weight. Many of them sheared right off. like a pair of bolt cutters had gotten them.
I am amazed at how many were saved. All thanks to my next door neighbours. They heard the tank fall and shatter. Got a hold of the weekend landlord and cleaned up probably 80% of the water with a carpet cleaner. All the fish were thrown in with my fish in my 33. Interesting seeing a pair of perc clowns in with a pair of maroon's. Don't you know they moved to the sump pretty quick.
Only two fatalities. One at the time and one later. Shock I guess.
Gonna miss them.. Talk about personality. A Bicolor that would take runs at the percs trying to get them to move their anemone away, and a bangaii that thought the outlet of the skimmer was a male and regularly dropped eggs in it's "mouth"
RIP guys..
