i mix my water,salt, put a heater and a pump to mix it,i leave it for a week or longer before i do my water change,is it possible that the water can go bad from sitting there so long?the reason a leave so long is cause im very busy,and get lazy too

long as its a pump on it it should be fine

You re fine. I always have reserve saltwater around, whenever I need to do waterchange, i just run pump and heater for awhile before using it. Now, if you leave it there for more than 2 weeks, not sure if it will go thru a cycle as you do in a new tank. I remember seeing Kathys thread about her saltwater reserve started cycling. I doubt it could happen if theres nothing to start the cycle.

Just make sure if you leave it for that long that the salinity is still the same. Your heater and pump may cause some evaporation raising the salinity. Other than that you should be fine
