Water Particles

I know salt water can never really be truly spotless... however.... is it normal to have water particles in the water? Looks like small white specks... I was just wondering because I was thinking of setting up a Canister filter to try and Polish the water. has anyone ever been able to truly get their water spotless?

give it time...try using a filter sock or a canister filter to remove some of those excess particles from the water.

I was thinking of buying a diatom filter what you guys think?

No need for that!

Give it time, and be patient. The particles will clear. Also keep in mind that a healthy tank will always have some particulate matter.

ditto. diatom filter only good for polishing, and it is not that useful in most setup. IMHO, your setup is too new, and adding sand probably generate the dust in the water column. When bacteria start to grow and slime thing up, the water will gradually clear out.
