Web camTank Monitoring

Okay guys need help here i wanna be able top monitor my tank from my iphone or my laptop when im not home so below is the outline

1- what type of web cam can i use that i can mount on my ceiling tiles above my tank
2- what type of software will allow me too do this
3- It has to be MAC capable
4- what other equipment would i need if at a later date i wanted to record and keep it

I got a D-link 932L. Hooked it up to my Airport, then set it up with my Macbook Air, then unhooked it from the airport so I could attach it to my light for top down viewing. (my router is far from my tank so self contained, built-in wifi was a necessity) Took me about 20 minutes to do everything. I view/hear it on my iphone using the free mydlink app. Paid 80 bucks new. Worth every penny.

Don't know about video but I can do snapshots that save to my camera roll.
